Carbon Rock Pad

A boulder has become a flowerbed to whimsical plants that grow on the fossilized remains of stalagmite candles. Mineral and organic meld together in a graphic setting that could be a snippet of life, somewhere on earth, long after we’re gone.

Technique

Resin casting loaded with carbon powder, charcoal and marble dust, with inclusions of brass and copper powder for the base. Upper parts made of reinforced iron and sheets of steel with a brass patina.

Carbon Rock Gold Sun

The sun: source of life, the originator of light and an endless power supply. The foundation upon which our world was built. The sun is the inspiration for this piece, both a meteorite and a golden lake with gently lapping waves, powerfully and ceaselessly reflecting its surroundings.
